The one thousand one hundred cuerdas Hacienda Rio Prieto was established in 1906 by Corsican immigrants Antonio Molini Benigni (1844-1927) and Alejandro Bartolomei Tulli (1853-1940) under the partnership known as Bartolomei, Molini & Cía. which also operated a store in Yauco.  However, before 1906 it was already a coffee plantation known as Hacienda La Gloria owned by Antonio Molini Benigni.

After Antonio Molini Benigni's death, the hacienda was inherited by his son Tomás Molini Ruiz (1875-1956 ) and his wife Hercilia Mejia Nigaglioni whose parents Manuel Mejia Rodriguez de la Seda and Maria Hercilia Nigaglioni Lacroix owned a coffee plantation known as Hacienda Cantera.  Since 1994 the property has been owned by Tomás' grandson Hugo Diaz Molini and his wife Mildred Jordán Cobos.  In this facebook page you can appreciate some pictures of the manor house and surroundings.
