Hacienda Buena Unión
Hacienda Buena Unión was at times also known as Trapiche del Guamá because of its location in the Panchita sector of Barrio Guamá of San Germán and Hacienda Acosta because of the last name of its owners. It was established in 1870 and operated until 1910.
According to José Ferreras Pagán 1902 book Biografia de las Riquezas de Puerto Rico, Hacienda Buena Unión was located in Barrio Guamá towards the east of the town of San Germán 4 km from it. He states it was established in 1870 by Gregorio Acosta Beizama (1808-1880). After Gregorio's death it passed on to the Sucn. Acosta formed by his widow Eulogia Nazario de Figueroa Ortiz de la Renta (1806-1903) and their two children Concepción (1837-1912) who married Ramón Porrata Acosta the son of the owners of Hacienda Jovita also in San Germán and Pedro (1846-1909) Acosta Nazario who married Maria Monserrate Forés Moraza.
Pedro was its sole owner in 1902 and its last known owner is often reported as his estate known as Sucn. Acosta, which refers to his children born fron his marriage to Maria Monserrate Forés Moraza;
