Central Sóller's name is in honor of the hometown of its owners in the Balearic Island of Mallorca.  It was located in the Barrio Cibao of Camuy high in the mountain range.  It was strategically located near plenty of water source on the shore of Lake Guajataca and the banks of the Rio Chiquito de Cibao.
Molasses produced by Sóller were transported to the Palo Viejo Distillery for use in the manufacturing of Palo Viejo Rum which was in part owned by the Marqués family.  Both Sóller and Central Rio Llano  were owned by the Marqués family.  The major stockholders in Sóller Sugar Company were Antonio Marqués, Ramón Gelabert, Guillermo A. Marqués, Amelio Cortés and Antonio Lens.
All that remains of this sugar mill is what used to be the company store and a round cement structure, probably a water tank.
